ParentSquare & ParentVue

ParentSquare vs. ParentVue

ParentVUE and ParentSquare are tools we encourage you to use to support your student’s learning. Think of ParentVUE as a tool you use to view and update records. Think of ParentSquare as the place you go to engage with teachers and staff.

ParentSquare

In ParentSquare you can connect with teachers and school staff:
  • Send and receive messages from the school via email, text, or mobile app.
  • Communicate in your preferred language.
  • Direct message teachers, staff, and principals.
  • Share pictures and files.
  • See calendar items.
  • Participate in group messages.

ParentVue

In ParentVUE you view enrollment records and progress:
  • See attendance records.
  • Review academic progress and grades.
  • Check class schedules and course history.
  • See graduation requirements and status.
  • Translate information into your preferred language.
  • See records for all your children at any GCPS school with a single login. 

Keep Your Contact Information Up to Date

It is important your contact information is up to date with your school. Both ParentSquare and ParentVue rely on your up to date contact information. Need to update? You can do so online in ParentVue or you can contact your school. 

ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent/guardian using their preferred email address and phone number listed in ParentVUE. We recommend reviewing your contact information annually. 

Note: ParentSquare considers phone numbers marked as a cell phone as a parent/guardian’s primary phone.

ParentSquare

If you find yourself having trouble with ParentSquare:

  • Notifications not received:
    • Check your email's spam, junk, or clutter folders.
    • Add parentsquare.com and do-not-reply@parentsquare.com to your safe senders list.
    • Ensure your notification preferences are enabled in the "My Account" section of ParentSquare and set to "Instant" or "Digest" for the types of alerts you want to receive.
  • Text messages not received:
    • Check your phone for texts from unknown senders, specifically looking for numbers like 60710, 66458, 87366, and 36794.
    • Text START to 66458 to resume receiving text notifications.
  • Login and account issues:
    • If you forget your password, use the "Forgot/Change Password" link on the sign-in page.
    • If you are missing a student or school, it may be because you have multiple accounts or because your contact information is inconsistent across school systems. Contact the school to verify and merge your accounts.
  • If you still have trouble:
    • Use the "Help" section within the ParentSquare app for support pages.
    • Reinstall the app.

ParentVue

The most common error when using ParentVue:

Your USERNAME is the email address you used to register your child.  Check to make sure your phone or computer is not defaulting to a username that is not an email address.
